I had the good fortune to make many good hires while being a CE. Horace Wong is among my best. He came to us from the Wild 94.9 Promotions department and made the jump in to Engineering effortlessly. He's absolutely a "star" in the Engineering field and he continues to work at CC in San Francisco-now as Senior Studio Engineer.
Larry Wood is one of the best and most well known Radio Engineers in San Francisco. One of the reasons I was so glad to go over to KKSF and KDFC in 1996 was because Larry was already working there. We spent the following 4 years working together, but very soon after our stations were absorbed by Clear Channel in 2000, Larry had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to take over at KQED, which he did.
